With loads going about 3 to 6 hundred miles on average. Reefer dose have more stops on it but we get paid stop pay. My loads average about 1000+ miles. I have found I get more miles per week reefer then I do dry van. I never learned how to drive with a 10 or 13 speed and I’m pretty bummed about that so now I’m thinking I might only have to use automatic or auto shift trucks.Pushing the clutch in before putting it into gear may make for a more forgiving shift if your timing is off a little bit but has no advantage if your timing is right. It takes a lot of resolve, and provides a lot of self satisfaction. The two huge ones you will hear repeatedly is to one be on time for orientation. It begins at 7 am and you will get a wake up call at 545am. The truth is that most trucking companies hiring new drivers are doing hair follicle tests. I have had several hair tests. And I can tell Robert T to stay away from Knight or it's affiliates. Dogs can and do run around when outside and it only takes one second for the dog to get ran over by a truck in the parking lot. Can't be mad at the driver. That is what a leash is for. You can get a leash the rolls itself up and will go out 20 to 30 feet. Plenty of length for the dog to run and do its business..
